Properties
Aluminum Fluoride is a white crystalline powder. It has no specific odor.

Manufacture
Aluminum trifluoride tryhydrated is prepared by reacting alumina trihydrated and aqueous hydrofluoric acid. Aluminum trifluoride can also be produced by a dry process in which dried Al(OH)3 is treated at elevated temperatures with gaseous hydrogen fluoride. The third process involves careful addition of aluminum hydroxide to fluorosilicic acid, which is generated by fertilizer and phosphoric acid-producing plants.

Uses
>  Aluminum Production
>  Catalyst in organic synthesis
>  Inhibitor of fermentation
>  Ceramics
>  Glass Manufacturing
>  Flux in ceramic glazes, enamels and metallurgy
